In my natural habitat…

Dirt roads, open spaces, big sky, smell of sage, sounds of nature, camera at the ready.

The Girl Behind the Lens

I’ve lived enough years on this planet to know that there’s more to a person than meets the eye.

Some might see me as a buttoned-up, driven policy wonk and part-time professor, overly consumed with big messy problems that take decades to solve.

Some might see me as a devoted mom, always front & center in the audience for my daughters’ dance competitions and rodeos, dragging them along on adventures, and proudly sharing their latest accomplishments & milestones on social media.

Some might see me as a restless wanderer, always off on a dirt road scenic drive or getaway with cameras in tow, recharging my mental batteries with some nature therapy.

Some might see me as a dairy farm kid who ended up in the big city but will never be able to completely hide the redneck inside.

How do I see myself? I’m a farm kid at heart, sometimes a leader, always a loving & fierce mama bear, and forever an adventurer. Add to all that, I’m also a hopeless dreamer/romantic at heart, awkward, wicked silly, and grateful for timeless friendships with my amazing tribe.

I hope that sharing my adventures, images and perspectives with you will provide some inspiration, humor and joy!
